Arab, Islamic Foreign Ministers Voice Grave Concerns Over Humanitarian Crisis in Gaza Strip

Cairo: The Foreign Ministers of Egypt, Jordan, Emirates, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, Saudi Arabia, and Qatar expressed their deep concern over the deteriorating humanitarian situation in the Gaza Strip, which has been exacerbated by harsh, severe, and unstable weather conditions, including heavy rains and storms.

According to State Information Service Egypt, they also highlighted the continued inability to bring in sufficient humanitarian aid, the severe shortage of basic life-saving supplies, and the slow pace of entry of essential materials needed to rehabilitate basic services and establish temporary housing.

The ministers noted that the severe weather conditions have exposed the fragility of the existing humanitarian situation, particularly for the nearly 1.9 million displaced people and families living in inadequate shelters.

In addition, the ministers expressed concern about the risk of disease outbreaks, especially among children, women, the elderly, and people with underlying health conditions.
