Agriculture Ministry: Egyptian-Chinese Cooperation to Boost Innovation in Animal Health

Cairo: The Animal Health Research Institute (AHRI), affiliated with the Ministry of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, has signed a scientific and research cooperation memorandum with China's Harbin Veterinary Research Institute (HVRI). The agreement aims to enhance collaboration in the animal health sector, specifically focusing on innovation in the rapid and accurate diagnosis of animal diseases, as well as vaccine development and production.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this partnership is part of directives from Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation, Alaa Farouk, to expand international partnerships and transfer and localize advanced technologies. This initiative also aims to strengthen Egypt's scientific capabilities in the field of animal health. The Harbin Institute is recognized as one of the world's leading research centers in this domain.

The signing ceremony took place in China during a visit by an Egyptian delegation. The visit was intended to foster cooperation and provide the delegation with firsthand information about the capabilities of the Chinese institute, including its advanced Biosafety Level 3 and Level 4 laboratories (BSL-3 and BSL-4).
