Three Egyptians Rescued on Borders Between Turkey, Greece

Cairo: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs, Emigration and Egyptian Expatriates announced on Saturday the successful rescue of three Egyptian citizens stranded on an island along a shared river border between Turkey and Greece. The operation was carried out through close coordination between the ministry's consular sector and the Egyptian Consulate in Istanbul in cooperation with the relevant Turkish authorities resulting in the safe return of the citizens to Turkish territory.

According to State Information Service Egypt, this announcement follows recent social media reports in which Egyptians stranded in the border area between Turkey and Greece issued distress calls. In a press statement, the ministry urged citizens not to follow illegal migration networks, which lure individuals with promises of European travel in exchange for large sums of money, often in violation of the law.

The ministry highlighted that many illegal migration boats have recently capsized, endangering lives.
