Youth Minister Unveils Strategic ‘Youth Economy’ Project to Boost Economic Development

Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil announced the launch of the "Youth Economy" project, a strategic initiative designed to enhance youth participation in economic activities and harness their potential as a key driver of economic development. This announcement was made during a meeting with senior ministry officials, emphasizing the project's alignment with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi during the inauguration of the Strategic Command Headquarters.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the initiative aims to strengthen the national economy's competitiveness by collaborating with government institutions, the private sector, universities, and civil society organizations. A core component of the project is the development of a national youth economy map, which will identify investment opportunities, labor market needs, and priority sectors. This map will be supported by a comprehensive national database and digital platform to guide the implementation process.

The ministry's plan includes leveraging youth centers and various facilities to provide training, foster entrepreneurship, and create employment opportunities. Additionally, the initiative seeks to connect young people with funding sources and potential investors. Initially, the project will be launched in selected governorates with plans for nationwide expansion in the future.
