Deputy PM for Economic Affairs Engages with EY on Expansion in Egypt

New capital: Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hossam Issa reaffirmed on Monday, July 6, 2026, the government's commitment to strengthening cooperation with leading global companies and attracting investment to support sustainable economic growth.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Issa spoke during a meeting in the New Capital with a delegation from Ernst and Young (EY) Middle East and North Africa (MENA). He emphasized the government's efforts to improve the business environment, encourage both local and foreign investment, and expand the role of the private sector in the economy.

The meeting highlighted EY's plans to expand its operations in Egypt by offering a broader range of business, financial, technology, and digital advisory services from the country.

Issa also discussed the government's economic reform program, which includes initiatives to enhance the performance of economic authorities and state-owned companies, strengthen governance, and implement performance-based budgeting to improve the efficiency of public spending.

Omar Ouda, Head of Consulting for EY MENA, expressed that Egypt is viewed as a strategic market for the company, due to its skilled workforce, advanced digital infrastructure, and strategic geographic location.
