Youth and Finance Ministers Strategize for LA 2028 Olympics and 2027 African Games

Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Gohar Nabil discussed with Finance Minister Ahmed Kouchouk a number of priority issues as part of ongoing coordination between the two ministries to support the state's plans for developing the sports and youth sectors and promoting investment in national projects.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the talks focused on preparations for Egypt's participation in the Los Angeles 2028 Olympic Games, with both ministers reviewing plans to implement comprehensive training programmes for Egyptian athletes and provide the necessary support to help them achieve strong results on the international stage.

The meeting also reviewed preparations for Egypt's hosting of the 2027 African Games, including the financial and organizational arrangements required to ensure the event reflects the country's capabilities in staging major continental and international sporting events.

The two ministers further discussed progress on the Youth Economy project, a strategic initiative aimed at economically empowering young people, supporting entrepreneurship, and creating sustainable job opportunities through coordination among relevant government entities.
