Trkiye’s Hayat Egypt Invests $44 Million in Hygiene Products in SCZONE

Cairo: Trkiye's Hayat Egypt has begun construction on new production lines for hygiene products at its Sokhna facility in Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZone), with an investment of $44 million, SCZone said in a statement Sunday.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the expansion covers 30,000 square metres within the Orascom Industrial Zone, focusing on manufacturing nonwoven hygiene products. The project is set to create over 400 direct jobs, with 75 percent of its output aimed for export. Operations are scheduled to commence by March 2026.

SCZone Chairman Waleid Gamal El-Dien attended the groundbreaking ceremony, along with Suez Governor Tarek El-Shazly, Turkish Ambassador Salih Mutlu Sen, and Hayat Egypt General Manager Senol Keserlioglu. Gamal El-Dien stated that the project indicates growing investor confidence in Egypt's industrial zones. He noted that 18 Turkish companies currently operate within the SCZone, with combined investments amounting to nearly $794 million.

He further highlighted that the Sokhna zone hosts 10 Turkish firms with $508 million in investments, while West Qantara accommodates 8 companies investing an additional $286 million. The SCZone has made significant efforts to enhance infrastructure and digitize its single-window investor services, aiming to attract more international investment and establish Egypt as a regional industrial and logistics hub.
