Transport ministry: The Transport Ministry has categorically denied reports circulated by several news websites claiming that members of Alexandria Chamber of Shipping had submitted an urgent petition seeking to halt the granting of a majority stake in the Alexandria Container and Cargo Handling's (ACCH) Company to firms affiliated with an Arab country.According to State Information Service Egypt, the ministry stated that the reports were completely baseless, stressing that the chamber had not submitted any petitions or requests in this regard.The ministry emphasized that any acquisition or trading of shares in companies, particularly those listed on the Egyptian Exchange (EGX), is subject to all applicable governance and transparency regulations in accordance with Egyptian laws and legislation, under the supervision and oversight of the Financial Regulatory Authority.It also firmly affirmed that the shareholdings owned by entities affiliated with the ministry in the ACCH remain unchanged, adding there is no intention to relinquish or dispose of those stakes.
