Cairo: Deputy Prime Minister for Industrial Development and Minister of Industry and Transport Kamel el Wazir led the 36th meeting of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development on Tuesday, December 16, 2025. The meeting focused on strategies to bolster the industrial sector in Egypt, with an emphasis on innovation and infrastructure.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, Ayman Ashour, participated in the meeting to highlight the essential contribution of scientific research to the advancement and enhancement of Egyptian industry. The collaborative efforts are aimed at integrating scientific insights into industrial practices to foster growth and sustainability.
During the meeting, Wazir acknowledged the Unified Factory Inspection Committee for its pivotal role in establishing robust production foundations. He explained that the committee is a product of the discussions and initiatives of the Ministerial Group for Industrial Development. Rather than shutting down non-compliant factories, the committee focuses on developing corrective action plans to help these facilities comply with quality, safety, and environmental standards. This ensures production continuity, job preservation, and adherence to regulations.
Wazir also emphasized the necessity of creating an Investors' Association for each industrial zone. These associations would be responsible for managing the zones and maintaining their internal infrastructure, working closely with relevant authorities. This approach is designed to enhance operational efficiency, ensure the sustainability of infrastructure, and streamline services for investors, thereby boosting the overall industrial ecosystem in Egypt.
