Tourism Minister Highlights Growth in French Tourist Arrivals to Egypt

Cairo: Minister of Tourism and Antiquities Sherif Fathy announced a notable rise in the number of French tourists visiting Egypt, indicating positive trends within the French market.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister highlighted that French tourist activity is expanding beyond traditional locations such as Luxor and Aswan. There is an increasing interest in other destinations, particularly along the Red Sea coast, showcasing a broader appeal of Egypt's tourism offerings.

Fathy's comments were made during several meetings with top executives from French tour operators, travel agencies, and aviation companies, including DERTOUR, Club Med, Air Masters, and Travel Evasion. These discussions aimed at enhancing cooperation and boosting tourist numbers from France to Egypt.

The meetings also focused on promoting tourism to emerging areas like Egypt's North Coast, alongside established destinations. The strategy involves integrated travel programs combining various experiences, such as cultural and beach tourism, to highlight Egypt's wide range of tourism products.

An agreement was reached to strengthen collaboration between the Egyptian Tourism Authority and major French tour operators. This includes launching impactful joint promotional campaigns to increase French tourist arrivals. The implementation of these plans will be regularly monitored, with the next review set for the IFTM Top Resa international travel trade fair.

Representatives from the French companies commended Egypt's progress in its tourism sector and expressed confidence in its attractions. Club Med representatives also showed interest in resuming investment and operations in Egypt.
