Cairo: As part of efforts to bolster cooperation with regional and international financial entities and support Egyptian companies in expanding abroad, the Egyptian Commercial Service, led by Minister Plenipotentiary for Trade, Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif, convened with Emirates NBD Bank executives. Emirates NBD is a prominent banking institution in the Middle East, North Africa, and South Asia, represented by Mr. Tamer Ragheb, Head of the Corporate and Financial Institutions Sector.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the meeting aimed to explore opportunities for collaboration in trade finance, provision of financial solutions, and bolstering the presence of Egyptian firms in international markets. The discussions focused on attracting and financing foreign investments in Egypt and providing diverse financial solutions and banking facilities such as trade finance, export operations, and international banking services.
Dr. Abdel Aziz El-Sherif emphasized the strategic significance of collaborating with Emirates NBD Bank to enable Egyptian companies to penetrate new markets. He highlighted the bank's international presence and financing capabilities as key factors that make it an ideal partner for supporting trade and investment between Egypt and its global partners.
Mr. Tamer Ragheb noted that Emirates NBD's extensive network of over 900 branches across major markets, including the UAE, Egypt, and several other countries, positions it as a crucial facilitator for Egyptian companies aiming to access Gulf, African, Asian, and European markets. This partnership is anticipated to aid the Egyptian government's objectives of increasing exports and attracting foreign investments.
The meeting aligns with the Egyptian Commercial Service's strategic goal of forming robust partnerships with regional and international banks to support the expansion and growth of Egyptian companies, ultimately benefiting the national economy.
