Changsha:Tanta University and China's Hunan University are planning to establish joint centers of excellence and integrate artificial intelligence applications into engineering programs.

According to State Information Service Egypt, University President Mohamed Hussein of Tanta University discussed these plans with a delegation from Hunan University, led by Han-Lin Wang, during the China-Africa University Presidents Forum held in Changsha, China.

The proposed centers aim to concentrate on engineering and technology, facilitating collaboration between researchers from both universities on applied research projects and technical expertise exchange.

The discussions also included updates to Tanta University's engineering curricula to incorporate AI technologies and applications, providing students with experience in technologies that are increasingly prevalent in engineering and industry.

Further cooperation plans encompass joint supervision of master's and PhD students, faculty and researcher exchanges, and the development of joint research teams. The universities also explored opportunities for collaboration on applied research projects in mutually beneficial areas.

Hussein stated that Tanta University intends to expand the use of AI in its academic programs, aligning engineering education with technological advancements and labor market needs.
