Cairo: Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk reviewed the executive steps of the national "Carry On" project in a meeting with Minister of Agriculture and Land Reclamation Alaa Farouk and Bahaa El-Ghannam, Executive Director of the Future of Egypt Agency for Sustainable Development. This meeting, held on Wednesday, August 12, 2026, also included Ayman Ismail, Chairman of the Egyptian Holding Company for Food Industries (HCFI), and senior officials from relevant ministries and state bodies. They discussed procedures for establishing the project's operating company.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the "Carry On" project aims to enhance the domestic trade sector by unifying retail outlets under the modern brand "Carry On." This initiative is part of a national program designed to alleviate citizens' burdens, stabilize the market, and implement President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives for strengthened institutional cooperation across state bodies.

The meeting concentrated on the operational readiness of the "Carry On" initiative, which seeks to build a modern retail and commodity-availability model. The supply minister highlighted the importance of using existing state assets and logistical capabilities to optimize supply chains and reduce trading tiers, thereby ensuring competitive pricing, regular supplies, and stable markets.

Minister of Agriculture Alaa Farouk stated that his ministry will utilize fixed and mobile outlets as well as production projects to deliver agricultural goods directly from farms to consumers at fair prices, ensuring a regular supply of meat, poultry, and strategic commodities. He emphasized that the meeting represented integration and continuous coordination among state institutions to regulate markets and ease citizens' burdens, in line with President Sisi's directives.

Bahaa El-Ghannam reported that the Future of Egypt Agency would leverage its production capacities and logistical infrastructure to support the unified network, enhancing integration between production sites and sales outlets. The officials concluded the meeting by agreeing to maintain joint coordination to expedite the executive and legal processes necessary to establish the project company, paving the way for immediate implementation.
