Sports Minister and UAE Ambassador Discuss Strengthening Youth and Sports Cooperation

Cairo: Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Sobhi praised the depth of Egypt-UAE ties, stressing strong alignment in visions and ideas between the two countries, especially in the fields of youth and sports. This alignment contributes to supporting young people, building their capacities, and preparing them for the future.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting between Minister of Sports Ashraf Sobhi and UAE Ambassador Hamad Obaid Al-Zaabi, discussions were held on ways to enhance joint cooperation. The meeting aimed to deepen bilateral relations in various fields and coordinate youth and sports events. Sobhi welcomed the UAE ambassador and reviewed areas of cooperation, including youth exchanges, support for sports investment, and the implementation of joint programs with the Zayed Higher Organization through more than 100 speech-therapy centers inside Egyptian youth centers.

The discussions also covered knowledge and capacity-building programs, the development of camel racing, and strengthening cooperation between the Egyptian and UAE federations. There was a focus on launching joint youth programs to combat drug abuse and mechanisms to further develop bilateral initiatives.

Additionally, the two sides discussed the 10th edition of the Zayed Charity Marathon, which will feature the participation of more than 30,000 runners, highlighting its social and humanitarian significance. Coordination efforts are underway to host the marathon in 6th of October City.

For his part, the UAE ambassador affirmed that coordination with the Ministry of Youth and Sports is conducted at the highest level. He praised the significant progress achieved by the ministry in developing youth activities and programs and emphasized the UAE's commitment to strengthening cooperation in the coming period.
