Social Solidarity Ministry Hosts Second Social Protection Conference

Cairo: The Ministry of Social Solidarity held its second annual Social Protection Conference, featuring participation from representatives of ministries, national agencies, and experts in social protection.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the conference was inaugurated by Dina el Sirfy, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for International Cooperation, Relations and International Agreements, and Raafat Shafiy, Assistant Minister of Social Solidarity for Social Protection, Economic Empowerment and Human Development, who also serves as the Executive Director of the Takaful and Karama conditional cash transfer program.

The conference served as a platform to review the efforts made since the first Social Protection Conference and discuss the social protection framework report. Participants reviewed and approved the contents of social protection program cards, while working sessions focused on priority areas such as future pathways and report priorities, leading to the approval of final pathways.

The event concluded by emphasizing the importance of continuing joint efforts and building on the outcomes achieved. The goal is to develop a more integrated, efficient, and flexible social protection system that can effectively address citizens' needs and reach the most vulnerable groups, all within a national vision that prioritizes people in social protection policies and programs.
