Cairo: Chairman of the Board of the State Information Service (SIS) Ambassador Alaa Youssef received Ambassador of the People's Republic of China to Egypt Liao Liqiang to discuss ways to strengthen Egypt-China media cooperation. Ambassador Alaa Youssef underscored the continued growth of bilateral relations across various fields under the leadership of President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi and Chinese President Xi Jinping, noting that their shared vision has elevated the comprehensive strategic partnership between the two countries to unprecedented levels.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the two sides affirmed that Egypt and China represent ancient, deeply rooted civilizations united by a long history of cooperation in supporting efforts toward stability, development, and peace. They also highlighted that Egypt was the first Arab country to recognize the People's Republic of China in 1956, laying the foundation for an enduring partnership that has positioned China as one of Egypt's leading trade, investment, and development partners.

Ambassador Alaa Youssef reviewed the State Information Service's (SIS) ongoing efforts to engage Chinese audiences through targeted publications and digital platforms, as well as the comprehensive facilities and support provided to accredited Chinese correspondents in Egypt. In this context, he also commended the Ministry of Foreign Affairs for its pivotal role in advancing Egypt-China relations and intensifying international coordination in support of Egypt's national interests.

For his part, Ambassador Liao Liqiang praised the strength of Egypt-China relations and the close coordination between the two countries' leaderships, describing it as a key driver of bilateral cooperation. He reaffirmed China's commitment to supporting Egypt's development efforts and enhancing cooperation across a broad range of fields, particularly given Egypt's prominent regional and international standing.

The two sides discussed ways to strengthen cooperation within the framework of the agreements and memoranda of understanding (MoUs) signed between the State Information Service (SIS) and the Xinhua News Agency, the State Council Information Office (SCIO) of China, and the All-China Journalists Association (ACJA).
