Cairo: State Information Service (SIS) signed a cooperation protocol today with Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya and Al-Democratia magazines, both published by Al-Ahram Establishment. This initiative is part of SIS's ongoing efforts to enhance collaboration with Egyptian media, intellectual, and research institutions, aiming to integrate media production with knowledge content and political and strategic studies.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the protocol was signed by Ambassador Alaa Youssef, Chairman of the board of SIS, and Mr. Ahmed Naji Qamha, Editor-in-Chief of Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya and Al-Democratia magazines. Present at the signing were Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farahat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahram, as well as several leadership figures from Al-Ahram, editors-in-chief of its publications, and senior officials from SIS.
Ambassador Alaa Youssef stated that the agreement aligns with SIS's strategy to develop its communication system and strengthen partnerships with national institutions that have significant expertise in media and intellectual studies. This collaboration is expected to result in deeper content that can interpret national, regional, and international issues through specialized knowledge and analysis.
The SIS chairman highlighted the need for integration between media and research institutions due to the rapid developments in international media and the overwhelming influx of information from multiple sources. He stressed the importance of knowledge and scientific analysis in delivering information and addressing public concerns.
Ambassador Youssef emphasized that the protocol builds on the expertise of Al-Siyassa Al-Dawliya and Al-Democratia in providing studies and analysis on various matters, combined with SIS's extensive capabilities in media, communication, and engagement with both Egyptian and foreign press.
Dr. Mohamed Fayez Farahat, Chairman of the Board of Directors of Al-Ahram Establishment, remarked that this cooperation reflects a shared responsibility to enhance public awareness of issues affecting Egypt, especially amid rapid global changes and competition to shape narratives. He noted the importance of utilizing national institutions' capabilities to improve society's understanding of regional and international issues.
Mr. Ahmed Naji Qamha, Editor-in-Chief of the magazines, stated that the protocol offers a framework for leveraging the research and analytical strengths of both publications to support Egyptian issues. The collaboration with SIS is expected to broaden the reach of these studies and analyses to a wider audience, fostering a deeper understanding of the challenges and opportunities Egypt faces regionally and internationally.
The protocol includes support for cooperation and coordination frameworks between SIS and the magazines, exchange of expertise, and collaborative efforts in producing media and knowledge content. It also outlines plans for joint seminars, events, and activities to maximize the benefits of both parties' research and media capabilities, ensuring the content remains relevant to regional and international political and strategic developments.
