Washington: Waleed Gamal El-Dein, Chairman of Egypt's Suez Canal Economic Zone (SCZONE), continued his US promotional tour on Thursday 4/12/2025 in Washington, courting investment across pharmaceuticals, energy, logistics, and automotive sectors following successful New York meetings.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in Washington, Gamal El-Dein held high-level discussions with executives from Merck, exploring opportunities to localize pharmaceutical, vaccine, and biological treatment industries within SCZONE's industrial areas to serve both domestic and international markets. He highlighted that developing the healthcare sector is a key pillar of Egypt's strategic economic vision.

He also participated in roundtables organized by McLarty Associates and DLA Piper, presenting SCZONE's strategic vision, integrated industrial zones and ports, investment incentives, infrastructure readiness, energy availability, and trained workforce-all factors making the zone a preferred destination for global investors. The sessions included representatives from companies such as SpaceX, Lucid Motors, Caterpillar, Bechtel, Citi Bank, CMA CGM, and leading consultancies.

Gamal El-Dein also joined a roundtable hosted by global law firm DLA Piper, where he outlined SCZONE's strategic plan, integration of ports and industrial zones, investment incentives, and infrastructure and energy readiness that he said make the zone a competitive global investment hub.

During a discussion hosted by the US Chamber of Commerce, Mohamed Gamal El-Dein highlighted SCZONE's investor-friendly business environment, ongoing infrastructure development, digital transformation of customs services, and platforms that facilitate industrial networking and supply-chain integration-all of which have contributed to investor success and expansion in recent years.

Gamal El-Dein also met with Blumberg Grain executives to discuss plans for grain silos at East Port Said and the development of cold chain logistics, enhancing the zone's role as a global logistics hub for grain trade. Company representatives said they plan to visit Egypt next week to coordinate project implementation with SCZONE and government authorities.

Gamal El-Dein said the authority's strategic location, specialized industrial zones, and integrated ports make the SCZONE a top choice for international investors seeking to expand beyond the United States.
