Cairo: Rwandan Ambassador to Egypt Dan Munyuza affirmed that relations between Egypt and Rwanda are "excellent" and continue to develop steadily, highlighting Rwandan President Paul Kagame's visit to Cairo in September and his meeting with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi as a reflection of the strong ties between the two countries and their leaderships' commitment to expanding cooperation.

According to State Information Service Egypt, in an exclusive statement on Sunday, July 05, 2026, to Nile News Channel, Munyuza said Rwanda today is vastly different from what it was 30 years ago, stressing that the country has become a united nation making steady progress toward development across various sectors. He noted that Rwanda has achieved significant progress in the education sector, improved healthcare services and continued to attract investments, reflecting the success of its ongoing development efforts.

The embassy of Rwanda in Cairo celebrated the 32nd anniversary of Kwibohora (Liberation Day) on Saturday. The event was attended by Assistant Foreign Minister for African Affairs Karim Sherif, representing Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptian Expatriates Badr Abdelatty, along with a number of African ambassadors.
