Rafah: The Rafah border crossing has remained open from the Egyptian side for the 40th consecutive day, as authorities prepare for the arrival of injured Palestinians and patients seeking medical treatment. Meanwhile, Israeli authorities continue to keep the crossing closed from the Palestinian side, according to an official source at the Rafah terminal.
According to State Information Service Egypt, medical teams and ambulances are on standby to receive those in need of urgent care. As of March 18, the terminal has facilitated the arrival of 1,700 wounded Palestinians and patients, along with 2,500 companions.
The Israeli occupation authorities have maintained the closure of the Rafah border crossing from the Palestinian side since March 2. This blockade has hindered the passage of trucks carrying essential humanitarian aid and heavy equipment needed for reconstruction efforts in Gaza. The region has experienced significant destruction due to Israel's 15-month aggression on the Palestinian enclave, the source noted.
