Doha: A telephone call took place between Sheikh Mohammed bin Abdulrahman bin Jassim Al Thani, Prime Minister and Minister of Foreign Affairs of Qatar, and Dr. Badr Abdel-Aty, Minister of Foreign Affairs, International Cooperation and Egyptians Abroad of the Arab Republic of Egypt, during which they reviewed the relations of cooperation between the two countries and ways to support and strengthen them, and the latest regional developments, especially the diplomatic efforts made and joint coordination to reduce escalation and enhance security and stability in the region.According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the Qatari Prime Minister and Foreign Minister emphasized the necessity for all parties to commit to dialogue and diplomacy, and to implement what was agreed upon within the framework of the Memorandum of Understanding between the United States of America and the Islamic Republic of Iran. This includes ensuring freedom of navigation in the Strait of Hormuz, which is crucial for maintaining the security of the region, preserving the achievements made, and enhancing regional stability.The conversation reaffirmed the State of Qatar's full support for all initiatives aimed at defusing tensions and reaching a comprehensive agreement that achieves sustainable peace in the region.
