Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from His Majesty King Hamad bin Isa Al Khalifa of Bahrain, during which they discussed bilateral relations and regional challenges.

According to African Press Organization, King Hamad expressed Bahrain's solidarity with Egypt following an earthquake that struck earlier today, emphasizing the Kingdom's support for Egypt during challenging times. In response, President El-Sisi conveyed his gratitude for the King's sentiments and highlighted the strong fraternal relations between the two nations.

President El-Sisi reaffirmed Egypt's commitment to supporting Bahrain, condemning Iranian actions that threaten Bahrain's sovereignty. He praised Bahrain's leadership for measures taken to safeguard national security. King Hamad appreciated Egypt's support for Bahrain and the Gulf Cooperation Council in addressing regional military challenges, recognizing Egypt's significant role on the regional and international stage.

The conversation also covered developments in bilateral cooperation, with both leaders expressing a desire to enhance ties following the Bahraini Crown Prince's visit to Egypt in September 2025. The leaders discussed the outcomes of the Egyptian-Bahraini Joint Governmental Committee session held in Manama in February 2025, focusing on economic, trade, scientific, and technological cooperation.

President El-Sisi acknowledged the support provided to Egyptians in Bahrain, underscoring their contributions to the Kingdom's development.
