Nairobi: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi embarked on a journey to Nairobi, Kenya, on Monday, May 11, 2026, to attend the Africa-France Summit, which is set to take place over two days.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the summit is being held under the theme ‘Africa Forward Summit.’ It aims to enhance the African-French partnership by addressing challenges related to economic growth, digital transformation, energy, and reform of the international financial system. Additionally, the summit seeks to integrate African priorities into global economic frameworks, as stated by presidential spokesman Mohamed el-Shennawy.
The event is anticipated to witness extensive participation from African leaders, French President Emmanuel Macron, the United Nations (UN) secretary general, and several heads of international and regional financing organizations. Representatives of the African and French business sectors will also be in attendance.
President El-Sisi is scheduled to deliver Egypt’s speech during the summit. He will also engage in a series of bilateral meetings with fellow African leaders and officials from international organizations on the sidelines of the event, the spokesman added.
