Cairo: This year marks the 70th anniversary of diplomatic relations between Egypt and China, celebrating a milestone in the civilizational and historical ties that unite the two nations. Egypt was the first Arab and African country to establish diplomatic relations with China in 1956, a testament to their shared history and mutual aspirations for a prosperous future.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the anniversary is highlighted by the visit of Chinese President Xi Jinping to Egypt, underscoring the strong relationship between the two countries. The bonds between Egypt and China have been fortified through a shared legacy of achievements, from the Pyramids of Egypt to the Great Wall of China, illustrating their profound contributions to human progress.

The historical trade routes that connected the two nations facilitated the exchange of goods, cultures, and ideas, setting the foundation for the diplomatic relations established seven decades ago. Over the years, the relationship has evolved into a Comprehensive Strategic Partnership, with China becoming a major trade and economic partner for Egypt.

The strategic partnership extends to industrial localization and high-quality development, focusing on sectors like electric vehicles, renewable energy, and telecommunications. China's development serves as an inspiration for Egypt and similar nations, highlighting the potential for economic advancement tailored to their unique contexts.

Egypt's commitment to international cooperation is evident in its support for the Global South, participation in organizations like BRICS, and efforts to enhance global sustainable development. The partnership with China emphasizes peaceful conflict resolution and transboundary cooperation, particularly concerning the Nile River and shared water resources.

As Egypt and China celebrate this significant anniversary, they envision a future marked by continued collaboration, mutual support, and shared prosperity, contributing to global stability and development.
