Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi has addressed recent incidents reported in certain electoral districts during the individual candidate elections. He has emphasized the importance of the National Election Authority's role in examining and adjudicating these matters independently, as per the law governing its establishment.

According to State Information Service Egypt, President El-Sisi has requested the Authority to conduct a comprehensive and meticulous review of the reported incidents and any related appeals. He has stressed that the Authority's decisions should reflect the genuine will of the voters while maintaining transparency. The President highlighted the importance of providing each candidate's representative with a copy of the official vote tally to ensure that elected parliament members accurately represent the people of Egypt.

The President further noted that the National Elections Authority should not hesitate to make difficult decisions, such as canceling certain stages of the elections if the true will of the voters is not ascertainable. This could involve a complete or partial cancellation in one or more districts, with elections to be rescheduled for those areas.

Moreover, President El-Sisi urged the National Election Authority to publicly disclose actions taken against any electoral campaigning violations. This is intended to ensure effective oversight and adherence to legal frameworks, thereby preventing future violations in the ongoing election process.
