President El-Sisi and UK Prime Minister Discuss Bilateral Relations and Regional Issues

Cairo: President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi received a phone call from UK Prime Minister Keir Starmer. The discussion focused on bilateral relations and regional developments.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the British Prime Minister began the call by congratulating President El-Sisi on the inauguration of the Grand Egyptian Museum, highlighting its significance in showcasing Egypt's rich history and culture. The conversation then shifted to bilateral relations, where both leaders expressed satisfaction with current progress in political, economic, trade, and investment cooperation. They emphasized the importance of further advancing these relations to serve the interests of both nations and their citizens, particularly in development, trade, and investment sectors.

The leaders also addressed regional and international issues, particularly the situation in the Gaza Strip. The British Prime Minister praised Egypt's role in facilitating an agreement to end the conflict in the Gaza Strip and the organization of the Sharm El-Sheikh Peace Summit. Both leaders acknowledged the importance of leveraging the momentum from the recent UN Security Council resolution on Gaza to reinforce the ceasefire, ensure humanitarian aid delivery, and initiate reconstruction efforts.

Additionally, the British Prime Minister stressed the importance of delivering humanitarian aid to the Gaza Strip and encouraged international humanitarian organizations to intensify their efforts. The call also covered developments in Sudan, with both sides agreeing on the need for intensive efforts to halt the conflict and establish stability in the region, highlighting their commitment to coordinating efforts for peace and stability in Sudan.
