PM Says Sisi Orders Comprehensive Upgrade of Airport Operations

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli said that President Abdel Fattah El Sisi has issued strict directives to implement advanced operating systems across Egyptian airports, aligned with global standards for air navigation, ground operations, building management, and digital innovation to promote smart and sustainable airport environments.

According to State Information Service Egypt, these remarks came during Madbouli's inspection tour of Cairo International Airport, accompanied by Civil Aviation Minister Sameh El Hefny. The visit reviewed service levels and ongoing development at Terminals 2 and 3, with a focus on faster procedures and improved passenger experience.

For his part, the Prime Minister said that the upgrades aim to raise efficiency, improve service quality, and support tourism growth. He directed increasing staffing in customs areas to reduce waiting times and ensure smoother passenger flow.

The tour also included arrival and departure halls, electronic passport control, baggage handling, customs areas, commercial zones, VIP lounges, transit facilities, and the airport operations center, which oversees real-time coordination of flights and emergency response. Officials confirmed that continued modernization will enhance efficiency, safety, and passenger services in line with international benchmarks.
