New alamein city: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly announced that the government is committed to ensuring adequate supplies of essential goods and maintaining strategic reserves to stabilize domestic markets and meet consumer demand.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly emphasized that the government has been directed by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi to secure adequate supplies of strategic commodities and ensure their availability at suitable prices. His comments were made during a meeting at the government's headquarters in New Alamein City, which focused on the availability of staple commodities and efforts to expand strategic stockpiles.

The meeting was attended by key officials, including Supply and Internal Trade Minister Sherif Farouk, Agriculture and Land Reclamation Minister Alaa Farouk, and General Authority for Supply Commodities Deputy Chairman Moustafa Ismail. Major General Khaled Salah from the Future of Egypt Authority for Sustainable Development was also present, while Industry Minister Khaled Hashem participated via video conference.

Cabinet spokesman Mohamed el-Homosani highlighted the meeting's review of coordination among ministries and relevant agencies to ensure the continued availability of essential goods and maintain strategic reserves. These efforts align with presidential directives and aim to stabilize markets and support balanced prices.

Officials discussed the contribution of fixed and mobile government retail outlets in supplying goods at competitive prices. El-Homosani noted that these initiatives have led to greater market stability and reduced prices for several commodities.

The meeting also focused on securing raw materials for the food manufacturing sector to attract investment, increase production, and support Egypt's goal of achieving greater self-sufficiency in strategic commodities. Officials stressed the importance of expanding partnerships with the private sector to bolster economic and development projects.

Participants reiterated the need for continuous market monitoring through intensified inspection campaigns to prevent violations and protect consumers from unfair practices. Authorities warned that strict action would be taken against traders manipulating prices or violating market regulations.

The meeting concluded with a review of inspection campaigns conducted by the Ministry of Supply and Internal Trade in coordination with other agencies to ensure adequate supplies of goods at appropriate prices.
