Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli on Saturday 28/2/2026 was reassured by Minister of Supply and Internal Trade Sherif Farouk about the state's strategic food reserve amid regional developments. During a meeting, Farouk stated that the state maintains a safe and sufficient stock of essential commodities, with reserves adequate for several months.
According to State Information Service Egypt, efforts are ongoing to pump additional quantities of goods into markets and closely monitor prices, in coordination with relevant authorities, to ensure market stability and safeguard consumers' interests. The minister emphasized that strict measures are being implemented to prevent monopolistic practices or unjustified price hikes, particularly during the holy month of Ramadan.
