PM Follows Up on Petroleum Reserve Status and Supply Security Amid Regional Developments

Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouli followed up on the status of petroleum reserves and the stability of supply security in light of regional developments. This is a continuation of the meeting held on Thursday, 28/2/2026, with Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawi.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Badawi asserted that petroleum reserves remain stable at safe levels, with supplies of different petroleum products regularly secured to meet various needs, especially those of the productive sectors. He noted that recent measures have been implemented to enhance preparedness for various scenarios, alongside the development of integrated plans designed to ensure swift response to any emergency developments within the sector.

Badawi also indicated that he visited the national natural gas grid control center today to follow up on implementing the natural gas supply security plan, ensure regular gas pumping to all parts of the domestic market, and verify the system's operational readiness to execute the pre-planned proactive scenarios prepared to address any emerging issues.
