PM Moustafa Madbouly Oversees Signing of Key Agreement Between Communications Ministry and Cisco Systems

Cairo: Prime Minister Moustafa Madbouly witnessed the signing of a letter of intent between the Ministry of Communications and Information Technology and Cisco Systems, aimed at implementing national digital initiatives and supporting Egypt's national artificial intelligence strategy.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the signing ceremony was attended by Minister of Communications and Information Technology Raafat Hindi, Cisco Chairman and CEO Chuck Robbins, and Cisco's Executive Vice President and Chief People, Policy and Purpose Officer Francine Katsoudas. The agreement seeks to establish cooperation in implementing Egypt's priority national digital initiatives, particularly in expanding the use of artificial intelligence (AI).

The agreement's focus is on leveraging Cisco's global expertise to explore opportunities for AI adoption and scaling across government and priority sectors, aiming to enhance service delivery, improve operational efficiency, and support decision-making. The cooperation will explore driving innovation, economic diversification, and productivity through AI initiatives, as well as strengthening national capabilities in AI skills development and institutional capacity building.

Following the signing, Prime Minister Madbouly emphasized the state's commitment to advancing digital initiatives, which would help develop technological skills among young people. He highlighted the importance of digital transformation and the application of AI to improve government services offered to citizens.

Minister Raafat Hindi stated that the collaboration with Cisco reflects the ministry's commitment to partnering with major global companies to accelerate AI solutions. He emphasized that this partnership supports building a competitive digital economy based on innovation and advanced technologies, enhancing AI applications, and developing government services. The initiative aligns with the national AI strategy and aims to further digital transformation in Egypt.
