Bishkek: Deputy Prime Minister for Economic Affairs Hussein Issa has emphasized the robust relationship between Egypt and Kyrgyzstan, highlighting Egypt's keen interest in expanding cooperation across multiple sectors. Issa's remarks came during a meeting with Kyrgyz Prime Minister and Head of the Presidential Administration Adylbek Kasymaliev. The meeting took place on the sidelines of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization summit, where Issa represented President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Issa expressed gratitude to the Kyrgyz leadership for their warm reception and took the opportunity to congratulate Kyrgyzstan on several significant milestones: its Independence Day, the 25th anniversary of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, and the opening of the sixth World Nomad Games in Bishkek. He reiterated Egypt's commitment to bolstering political, trade, economic, investment, and cultural ties with Kyrgyzstan. Issa noted that the visit could lead to new opportunities for cooperation and further strengthen bilateral relations.

Kasymaliev, welcoming Issa's visit, underscored its significance in advancing Egyptian-Kyrgyz cooperation, particularly in areas such as trade, economy, investment, industry, and culture. He discussed the positive outcomes of Kyrgyz President Sadyr Japarov's official visit to Egypt in November 2025, which invigorated bilateral ties and led to the decision to open a Kyrgyz embassy in Cairo.

The discussions also touched upon Egypt's role as a dialogue partner of the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, with the presence of Ibrahim Hamza, Egypt's charg© d'affaires to Kazakhstan and Kyrgyzstan. Kasymaliev highlighted Kyrgyzstan's commitment to coordinating with Egypt through the Shanghai Cooperation Organization, aiming to expand the organization's international influence and fortify connections between Central Asia, the Arab world, and Africa.
