PM Inspects New Heliopolis Hospital Project

Cairo: Prime Minister Mustafa Madbouly visited the construction site of the new Heliopolis Hospital in Cairo, joined by Deputy Prime Minister for Human Development and Minister of Health Khaled Abdel Ghaffar, Cairo Governor Ibrahim Saber, and senior officials. The visit is part of the Prime Minister's ongoing inspections of major healthcare projects, underscoring the government's focus on the medical sector and its dedication to enhancing healthcare services.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly stressed the importance of monitoring the project's progress to ensure its swift completion, which will provide a major new facility for the surrounding population of approximately one million. The hospital, spanning over 42,000 m², is set to feature more than 400 beds, including designated accommodations for doctors and nursing staff, as well as a crisis management room connected to the national emergency network, with an expected completion date in January 2027.

The upcoming hospital will house emergency and triage units, 194 intensive care beds, 57 neonatal care incubators, and specialized departments for cardiology, organ transplants, nuclear medicine, dialysis, cath labs, and hybrid operation rooms. Outpatient services will include 24 clinics in primary specialties, along with centers for dental, ophthalmology, and imaging. Additional diagnostic and support facilities will offer MRI, CT, ultrasound, lab services, physiotherapy, and oncology treatment units.

Abdel Ghaffar mentioned that the Ministry of Health is currently in talks with Italy's prominent San Donato Hospital group to explore potential partnerships for management and operation, following President Sisi's directives to expand global collaborations in healthcare.

The Prime Minister and accompanying officials also evaluated the logistics and auxiliary facilities planned for the hospital, such as residential wings, kitchens, restaurants, parking for 500 cars, and potential retail and wellness units, to ensure comprehensive services for both patients and staff.
