Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly visited the Unified National Network for Emergency Services and Public Safety (NAS) at the headquarters of Matrouh governorate as part of a tour of various service and development projects in the governorate. During the visit, Madbouly examined the center's operating system and its role in monitoring and responding to incidents and emergencies to ensure rapid response and improve crisis management efficiency.

According to State Information Service Egypt, Madbouly was joined by Water Resources and Irrigation Minister Hani Sewilam, Local Development and Environment Minister Manal Awad, Housing, Utilities and Urban Communities Minister Randa el Menshawy, Matrouh Governor Mohamed el Zamlout, Deputy Governor Islam Ragab, and several other officials and community leaders. Governor Zamlout updated the premier on ongoing projects across sectors such as roads, housing, health, and education, along with the development of Matrouh Airport.

NAS Head Abdel Rahman el Tabakh elaborated on the center's mechanisms for monitoring and handling reports and emergencies. The center coordinates with relevant authorities to expedite crisis management measures. Tabakh also presented a project to replace and renovate the Salloum desalination plant's marine intake, aimed at enhancing raw water supply quality and quantity. The project, costing 32 million Egyptian pounds, began in January 2025 and is expected to be completed in October 2026, with 80% of the work already completed.

Furthermore, Tabakh highlighted the Matrouh tree forest project and the wastewater treatment system at the Kilo 10 treatment plant. The first phase of the treatment system, established in 1999, uses oxidation ponds with a capacity of 25,000 cubic meters per day, covering an area of 450 feddans with 16 ponds distributed across two lines.
