Cairo: Chairman of the National Press Authority (NPA) Abdel Sadek el Shorbagy and Chairman of the National Media Authority (NMA) Ahmed al Moslemany signed a cooperation protocol between the two authorities at the headquarters of the National Press Authority on Sunday. The protocol outlines collaboration in media and advertising, documentary production, and joint media production.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the signing ceremony was attended by members of both authorities, alongside several heads of national press institutions and television channels. They collectively emphasized the protocol's significance as a foundation for collaboration between the two authorities. Shorbagy expressed appreciation for the cooperation with the National Media Authority and acknowledged Maspero's significant contribution to enhancing Egypt's soft power.
Shorbagy commended the National Media Authority's efforts to restore Maspero's prominence and reiterated the National Press Authority and its institutions' commitment to supporting Maspero's creative professionals in their role in the awareness campaign advocated by Egypt's political leadership. He also emphasized the national press institutions' potential to foster joint production and the prospects of advancing digital transformation in alignment with presidential directives.
On the other hand, National Media Authority Chairman Moslemany welcomed the protocol's signing, especially as it coincides with the upcoming centennial celebrations of Egyptian radio. This development also aligns with the Al-Ahram Foundation's 150th-anniversary celebrations, marking its status as one of the oldest press institutions globally.
Moslemany stated, "We look forward to this cooperation and are working to translate the protocol into reality. It will amount to a form of media twinning that will amplify the impact of Egypt's soft-power elements amid the battle for awareness." He also acknowledged the National Press Authority's initiatives to revitalize the national press's stature, with its longstanding role, leadership, and heritage.
