PM Approves Free Zone, Industrial Expansion in New October City

Cairo: Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouli approved the reallocation of two land plots in New October City for investment and industrial use.

According to State Information Service Egypt, one of the plots, nearly 270 feddans in size, will host a private free zone and logistics area. The other plot, covering about 30 feddans, will be designated for industrial activity, including a proposed vehicle assembly plant. This decision comes in response to investors' requests and aims to boost exports, production, and job creation.

During its weekly meeting, the Cabinet also approved the loan of 250 Egyptian artifacts for an international exhibition in Hong Kong, scheduled from November 2025 to August 2026. The artifacts will be sourced from several national museums and archaeological sites.

In the energy sector, the Cabinet approved five new petroleum agreements with total minimum investments of $221 million. These agreements include drilling commitments and signing bonuses amounting to $31.5 million.

Further decisions made during the meeting included land allocation for development in Beheira, approval of legal settlements, and continuation of infrastructure projects. The Cabinet also approved contracts related to traffic improvements in Giza and cultural programming by the Ministry of Endowments.
