Cairo: Dr Ahmed Rostom, Minister of Planning and Economic Development, paid an extensive visit to the headquarters of E-Finance for Financial and Digital Investments, in which the National Investment Bank (NIB) holds a 21.8% stake.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the visit included a comprehensive meeting with Eng. Ibrahim Sarhan, Chairman of the Group's Board of Directors, in the presence of the executive leadership of the company and the ministry, to discuss the Group's future expansion plans and its role in supporting Egypt's digital infrastructure.
During the meeting, Dr Rostom highlighted E-Finance's transformation from a single company into an integrated investment group with several subsidiaries, positioning it as a technical arm and strategic partner in major national projects. He noted that NIB's 21.8% stake is 'a model of successful institutional investment' balancing economic returns, job creation, and sustainable development, aligning with Egypt's Vision 2030.
The minister emphasized that completing the electronic payment and collection ecosystem and developing government services are essential for enhancing transparency and building a competitive economy. He affirmed the ministry's commitment to maximizing NIB's role in supporting national entities in this sector.
Eng. Ibrahim Sarhan expressed appreciation for the minister's visit, stating that the Group is focused on maximizing its technological and financial capabilities and consolidating its position as a provider of secure digital solutions in Egypt and the region. Sarhan highlighted the Group's involvement in managing the digital infrastructure of significant national projects, enhancing spending efficiency and revenue collection.
He pointed out projects like the Universal Health Insurance Program's technological system and the Egyptian government's financial network as critical to improving service delivery and financial operations, positively impacting the national economy.
