Planning Min.: Egypt Achieves Steady Progress in Strengthening Food Security

Cairo: Egypt has been achieving steady progress in bolstering food security through a multi-pillar approach and coordinated efforts across state institutions, Minister of Planning, Economic Development and International Cooperation said.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the government's strategy includes initiatives aimed at increasing agricultural productivity, improving supply chain efficiency, and enhancing access to nutritious food across the country. The minister highlighted the importance of collaboration between different sectors to ensure sustainable food systems that cater to the needs of the population.

The approach also involves investment in research and development to introduce innovative farming techniques and technologies. By focusing on these areas, Egypt aims to reduce its reliance on food imports and enhance its self-sufficiency in essential commodities.

Efforts are also being made to address challenges such as climate change and water scarcity, which significantly impact agricultural output. The minister emphasized the need for adaptive strategies to mitigate these issues and ensure long-term food security for the nation.
