Cairo: During the General Assembly of the Egyptian Petrochemicals Company, Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Karim Badawy stressed on Tuesday, January 27, 2026, the importance of localizing the production of high-quality PVC used in vital applications, including secure documents such as national ID cards, bank cards, and selected banknotes.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Minister praised the company's efforts to resume and localize the production of PVC K57 to meet state needs, affirming full government support to expand production capacity. The company also reported record PVC output in the first half of FY 2025/2026 and progress on plans for a new production line, alongside continued commitment to safety and renewable energy initiatives.
