Petroleum Ministry Sets Plans for Summer 2026 Fuel Security in Coordination with Electricity Ministry

Cairo: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Kareem Badawi announced that the ministry's strategy for the upcoming period will focus on securing the nation's petroleum product requirements and ensuring sustainable supplies. This initiative also includes expanding exploration and drilling activities to enhance oil and gas production rates.

According to State Information Service Egypt, during a meeting organized by the Mostaqbal Watan Party, which was attended by senior party officials, members of parliament, and representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum, Badawi outlined the ministry's action plan aimed at maximizing the utilization of petroleum resources. The plan includes upgrading refineries, expanding petrochemical projects, advancing the mining sector, and fostering regional cooperation to attract further investments to bolster the national economy.

Badawi assured that petroleum products would be available for the summer of 2026, emphasizing full coordination with the Ministry of Electricity to ensure a secure summer season. He also highlighted the significance of raising public awareness on energy consumption rationalization.

Ahmed Abdel Gawad, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, expressed gratitude towards the minister and ministry officials, commending the integration among party lawmakers. Badawi praised the spirit of cooperation and integration between the government and parliament, noting that such coordination is crucial in achieving the state's objectives and serving the citizens.

The meeting featured extensive discussions where party lawmakers presented proposals and ideas reflecting public concerns. This was part of the cooperation framework between the executive authority and the party's parliamentary bloc to support Egypt's development efforts.
