Cairo: Minister of Petroleum and Mineral Resources Kareem Badawi announced that the ministry's strategy in the upcoming period will emphasize securing the nation's petroleum product needs and ensuring sustainable supplies. This strategy is set to work in tandem with expanding exploration and drilling activities to enhance oil and gas production rates.
According to State Information Service Egypt, Minister Badawi made these remarks during a meeting organized by the Mostaqbal Watan Party, which was attended by senior party officials, members of parliament, and representatives from the Ministry of Petroleum. He highlighted that the ministry's action plan is designed to maximize the utilization of petroleum resources. This plan includes modernizing refineries, expanding petrochemical projects, advancing the mining sector, and bolstering regional cooperation to attract more investments, thereby supporting the national economy.
Badawi reassured attendees about the availability of petroleum products for the summer of 2026, emphasizing full coordination with the Ministry of Electricity to ensure a secure summer season. He also stressed the importance of increasing public awareness efforts regarding energy consumption rationalization.
Ahmed Abdel Gawad, Vice President and Secretary-General of the Mostaqbal Watan Party, expressed his gratitude towards the minister and ministry officials, commending the level of integration among party lawmakers. Badawi, in response, praised the collaborative spirit between the government and parliament, asserting that such coordination is crucial for achieving state objectives and serving citizens.
The meeting featured in-depth discussions where party lawmakers presented proposals and visions addressing public concerns. These discussions took place within the framework of cooperation between the executive authority and the party's parliamentary bloc, aimed at supporting Egypt's development initiatives.
