Baku:The House of Representatives convened a plenary session following a request by President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi. The parliament's General Secretariat announced that the session would be held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, October 18, 2026, in response to the president's request.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the session was called after President El-Sisi requested authorization to provide Saudi Arabia with defensive assistance should Riyadh ask for it.
