Cairo: The National Election Authority (NEA), led by Counselor Hazem Badawy, will initiate the acceptance and review process for candidacy applications for the 2025 Senate elections beginning this Saturday, May 7, 2025. This process will encompass both individual and party-list electoral systems.According to State Information Service Egypt, designated primary courts across various governorates will handle these tasks until the following Thursday. The designated working hours for this process are from 9:00 am to 5:00 pm daily, with an earlier conclusion at 2:00 pm on the final day. The NEA has encouraged citizens to participate in the Senate elections during a press conference where the full electoral timetable and detailed procedures were announced.All necessary preparations have been finalized, including the assignment of 27 primary courts to oversee the process. Specialized committees, chaired by senior judges of rank (A) and supported by two additional judges from the same court, along with a represent ative from the Ministry of Interior serving as the technical secretary, have been established to review candidacy applications and assess the eligibility of candidates.In alignment with the NEA's directives, medical examination centers have commenced operations to conduct the mandatory tests required by the Authority. These centers are strategically located across the governorates and include 36 medical committees and 26 laboratories affiliated with the Ministry of Health.
