Cairo: Montenegrin President Jakov Milatovic and his wife Milena Milatovic visited the Grand Egyptian Museum (GEM) on Monday, July 20, 2026, as part of his first official visit to Egypt. They were accompanied by Abdel Aziz Konsowa, Minister of Higher Education and Scientific Research, and received by Ahmed Ghoneim, CEO of the museum authority.According to State Information Service Egypt, Dr. Ghoneim briefed the presidential couple on the museum and its most prominent collections before guiding them on a tour of the outdoor plaza, the main atrium, the Grand Staircase, the main galleries, and the Tutankhamun galleries. President Milatovic expressed admiration for the museum's architecture, exhibition design, and archaeological treasures, which showcase ancient Egyptian civilization, while praising the efforts made to complete this landmark cultural edifice.At the end of the visit, President Milatovic and Dr. Ghoneim exchanged commemorative gifts to mark the occasion, reflecting the close ties between the t wo countries and their shared interest in Egyptian cultural heritage.
