Cairo: In line with directives from President Abdel Fattah El-Sisi, Minister of State for Information, Diaa Rashwan, is set to meet with delegations from the Journalists' Syndicate and the Media Professionals' Syndicate. The meeting, scheduled for Tuesday, February 17, 2026, will be attended by Syndicate Presidents Khaled El-Balshy and Tarek Saada.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the objective of the meeting is to explore avenues for enhancing collaboration among journalists and media professionals. This initiative is in accordance with constitutional provisions and the recent statements made by the Minister during a press conference held by Prime Minister Mostafa Madbouly. Emphasis was placed on responsible freedom and the respect for freedom of opinion and expression, highlighting the importance of cooperation among all journalism and media stakeholders to enhance the role of media outlets.
A public press release will be issued detailing the outcomes of the meeting. The Minister's efforts will continue with successive meetings involving private media sectors, including audio, print, visual, and digital media, aiming to gather insights and suggestions to improve media performance for national and societal benefit.
