Sarajevo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gomblat, alongside Turkey's Deputy Minister of Defense, witnessed the signing of a memorandum of understanding (MoU) between Egypt's Helwan Chemical Industries Company (Factory 81) and Helwan Engineering Industries Company (Factory 99) and Turkey's Mechanical and Chemical Industry Corporation (MKE).

According to State Information Service Egypt, the signing ceremony took place during the First Balkan Shield - Defence Industry Expo and Summit 2026, held in Sarajevo from September 1 to 4. Gomblat emphasized that the MoU aligns with President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to build strategic partnerships with friendly nations and enhance international collaboration across multiple sectors.

He further stated that this agreement highlights the Ministry of Military Production's dedication to fostering industrial partnerships between Egyptian companies and their Turkish counterparts, focusing on areas of shared interest. Gomblat noted the advanced capabilities and extensive expertise of the involved companies, underscoring the potential for technical and technological knowledge exchange and the efficient utilization of each side's manufacturing capabilities.

Turkey's Deputy Minister of Defense remarked on the growth of relations between Egypt and Turkey, emphasizing efforts to bolster bilateral cooperation for shared benefits. He recognized Egypt's advancements in defense industries and expressed Turkey's eagerness to deepen its cooperation with friendly nations.

Representatives from MKE conveyed their satisfaction with the collaboration with Egypt's Ministry of Military Production, particularly acknowledging the technological capabilities, manufacturing capacity, and highly skilled human resources within the Egyptian companies.
