Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Salah Suleiman Gamblat and Chairman of the Arab Organization for Industrialization (AOI) Mohamed Abdel Fattah Abou Bakr engaged in discussions to enhance cooperation and industrial integration. This dialogue took place on the sidelines of the Egypt International Airshow and Space Exhibition (EIAS 2026) and focused on attracting investments aligned with Egypt's Sustainable Development Vision 2030.
According to State Information Service Egypt, the AOI chairman praised Minister Gamblat, noting the significant role both the organization and the ministry play within Egypt's military-industrial sector. He highlighted that the existing cooperation between the two entities is part of President Abdel Fattah El Sisi's directives to deepen local manufacturing, transfer, and localize technology. This initiative aims to boost the national industry's value, satisfy domestic market demands, reduce imports, and increase export rates.
The AOI chairman further elaborated on the ongoing coordination between the two bodies to organize collaboration in defense and civilian industries. He emphasized AOI's intention to expand its partnerships with major global companies, leveraging the advanced manufacturing capabilities of its facilities and its skilled workforce in various industrial fields.
Highlighting the organization's critical role, the chairman pointed out AOI's efforts in designing and manufacturing domestically-produced products and components to meet industrial sector needs, adhering to international quality standards.
Minister Gamblat reinforced the importance of the Arab Organization for Industrialization as a pivotal institution in Egypt's industrial landscape. He underscored AOI's strategic role in achieving the government's objectives of deepening local manufacturing and localizing modern technologies. The organization, equipped with advanced production lines, remains a vital partner for the Ministry of Military Production in executing its development plans.
The Minister detailed the Ministry of Military Production's structure, which includes 15 industrial companies and four specialized companies in different fields such as information systems, construction, maintenance, and scientific excellence. This infrastructure positions the Ministry as a cornerstone of national industry, fulfilling the needs of the armed forces and supporting the civilian sector.
Minister Gamblat also stressed the Ministry's efforts to localize cutting-edge technologies, strengthen strategic partnerships with international companies and the private sector, and explore new markets for Egyptian products. These actions support Egypt's pursuit of sustainable industrial development and align with the goals of Egypt Vision 2030.
