Cabinet Clarifies Status of Advisory Committee Members

Cairo: The Cabinet clarified that members of the specialized advisory committees, comprising experts and specialists representing a broad spectrum of viewpoints, do not serve as personal advisers to the Prime Minister, are not employed by the Cabinet, and hold no official state titles within the institution.

According to State Information Service Egypt, the Cabinet issued a statement on Thursday, September 10, 2026, explaining that the committees were formed to draw on a broad range of views, ideas, and perspectives, ensuring that the government does not make decisions in isolation.

The Cabinet noted that it had recently observed some committee members incorrectly referring to themselves as advisers to the Prime Minister or advisers at the Cabinet, and making statements or expressing views that could be attributed to the government despite coming from individuals who hold no official position.

The Cabinet stressed that such statements and views are personal opinions that represent their respective authors only.
