Military Production Minister Highlights Role of Abu Zaabal Factory in National Security and Economy

Cairo: Minister of State for Military Production Mohamed Salah el-Din Mostafa announced that the Ministry is committed to implementing directives from the political leadership to localize advanced manufacturing technologies across sectors, increase local content, and generate added value for the national economy. The statement was made during an unannounced inspection tour of Abu Zaabal Engineering Industries Company (Factory 100).

According to State Information Service Egypt, the minister's visit aimed to review production rates on the ground and monitor compliance with previously issued directives to improve performance. Mostafa emphasized that the ministry is working in parallel to attract more investment and upgrade the workforce, positioning it as a main pillar of Egypt's military manufacturing and one of the state's key industrial arms.

During the inspection, Mostafa checked attendance and the implementation of the daily production plan at the start of the workday. He also examined several production lines, including facilities for operating components and assembling K-9 howitzer barrels.

Factory 100 plays a crucial role in supporting the armed forces by supplying heavy and medium artillery calibers, rapidly deployable assault bridges, special steel, and armored steel. The facility's surplus production capacity is utilized to manufacture a variety of civilian engineering products, such as hot- and cold-rolled steel plates, steel billets, components for waste-to-compost plants, and rust-resistant water and fuel tanks. The company actively participates in major national projects in collaboration with state institutions.
