Abu dhabi: The Foreign Ministers of the United Arab Emirates, Saudi Arabia, Qatar, Jordan, Indonesia, Pakistan, Turkey, and Egypt have issued a joint statement condemning Israel's ongoing illegal settlement policies in the occupied Palestinian territories and rejecting the E1 settlement plan and related activities in East Jerusalem.According to Union of OIC News Agencies, the ministers expressed their condemnation of the violations and acts of violence carried out by settlers, supported by Israeli authorities, against Palestinians and their property. The statement emphasized that these actions violate international law and United Nations resolutions, posing a threat to regional and international peace and security.The ministers highlighted the E1 settlement plan as a dangerous move that could further expand settlements and annexation efforts, undermining the territorial integrity of the occupied Palestinian territory, especially between the West Bank and East Jerusalem. This escalation challenges internat ional peace efforts, including those proposed by former President Donald Trump, which reject annexation and forced displacement.The joint statement reaffirmed the commitment to a two-state solution as the only viable path to a just and lasting peace. It warned that undermining this solution would escalate tensions and threaten peace and stability in the region. The ministers supported accountability measures, including international sanctions against entities involved in illegal settlement activities.The ministers called for immediate action to halt the E1 settlement plan and all settlement activities aimed at changing the geographic and demographic character of the Palestinian territories. They urged the UN Security Council and international bodies to take urgent measures to protect Palestinian rights and support their right to self-determination and statehood.
